Installation

Three ways to install

However a plugin reaches you, it always lands on the same permission confirmation page — network, storage and notification permissions are itemized before anything is enabled.

🧩

In-app Plugin Center

Browse featured collections and categories, search, and install with one tap. Update badges, drag-to-reorder priority, conflict detection and per-plugin traffic impact views included.

Deep link

Tap a link like the one below on your iPhone — Prismway opens straight to the install confirmation:

prismway://install-plugin?url=…

Scan a QR code

Point your camera at a plugin QR code from a friend or a blog post — it resolves to the same deep link and confirmation page.

Safety & Review

Reviewed like app code, not like text files

The official source pipeline

Every plugin in the official source passes the same gauntlet before it earns the ✓ Official badge. Plugins stay declarative: no nodes, no hidden proxies, no malicious rewrites.

  • Full human review of every submission and every update
  • Signature verification — tampered packages refuse to install
  • Sandboxed trial run before publication
  • Automated malicious-behavior scanning
  • Version blacklist: violating releases are pulled remotely
Community sources are “Unverified” by design. Anyone can publish a source as a simple JSON catalog ({plugins:[{id,name, version, url, signature?}]}). Unsigned content is always labeled “Unverified”, and installing from a community source requires an explicit second confirmation. When in doubt, stick with the official source.
Compatible Import

Bring your Loon, Surge and QX modules

Convert, don’t rewrite

Years of community modules work on day one. Paste a link or drop a file — Prismway converts it into a plugin and shows you exactly what happened.

  • Loon .plugin files
  • Surge .sgmodule files
  • Quantumult X rewrite_remote & filter_remote links
  • A conversion report that never fails silently — every skipped line is listed with its reason
For Developers

Build a plugin in an afternoon

A plugin is a self-contained .prismplugin package: rules, rewrites, scripts and MitM declarations, described by one plugin.yml manifest.

plugin.yml essentials

The manifest declares identity, permissions and contents. Permissions (network / storage / notification) are itemized to users at install time:

id: app.example.myplugin # reverse-domain, globally unique
name: My Plugin
version: 1.0.0 # SemVer
author: Jane Doe
desc: Blocks trackers on example.com
homepage: https://example.com
permissions: [network, notification]
rules: rules/main.list # ≤ 10,000 rules
rewrites: rewrites/main.rewrite
scripts:
  - path: scripts/daily.js # ≤ 10 scripts
    cron: "0 9 * * *"
mitm:
  hostnames: ["api.example.com"]
conflicts: ["app.example.other"]
min-app-version: 1.0.0
signature: ed25519:… # required for the official source

Per-plugin limits

Item Limit
Rules≤ 10,000
Scripts≤ 10
Remote resources≤ 10 URLs
Extracted size≤ 20 MB

Get listed in the official source

  1. Write your plugin.yml and package the .prismplugin bundle.
  2. Host it on any HTTPS static server — no special infrastructure needed.
  3. Submit it for official-source inclusion via GitHub or email.
  4. After human review, signing and sandbox trial, it ships with the ✓ Official badge.

Breaking API changes are announced two major versions in advance — your plugins won’t silently break.

Your idea belongs in the Plugin Center

Ship a rules pack, a rewrite bundle or a scripted automation — and put it in front of every Prismway user.
