Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 1, 2026 · Last updated: September 1, 2026
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Prismway handles information when you use the Prismway app for iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS (the "App") and when you visit our website at www.prismway.app (the "Site"). Prismway is built on a zero-telemetry architecture: privacy is a property of how the software is constructed, not merely a promise about how we behave.
This policy applies to the App and the Site. If you do not agree with this policy, please discontinue use of the App and the Site.
Data we do not collect
Prismway is designed so that there is simply nothing for us to receive. Specifically:
- No account system. The App requires no registration, no email address, and no password. There is no user account on our side that could identify you.
- No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. The App embeds no analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks, and shares nothing with data brokers.
- No default crash reporting to us. The App does not transmit crash logs to any server we operate. If you have opted in to sharing diagnostics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide anonymized, aggregated crash and usage statistics through App Store Connect; you can turn this off at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
- No network activity uploads. The App never uploads your browsing history, connection logs, DNS queries, or any record of your network behavior.
Data stored on your device
To function, the App stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Your configurations: proxy configurations, subscriptions, rules, overrides, plugins, and preferences.
- Logs and request records: connection logs and request inspector records are stored only on your device, for your own debugging purposes.
This data is under your control at all times. The App provides a one-tap option to erase all data, and deleting the App removes the data stored in its container.
iCloud sync
iCloud sync is optional and off by default; you turn it on yourself. When enabled, your configurations, subscriptions, overrides, and plugins sync across your devices through your own Apple iCloud account (CloudKit).
In this arrangement, Apple acts as the data processor under its own privacy policy. Prismway has no access to, and cannot read, any data in your iCloud account.
Diagnostic reports
A diagnostic report is generated only when you explicitly use the "Send Feedback" feature in the App. Reports are never generated or sent automatically.
Reports are redacted by default: node addresses, credentials, keys, and domain names are removed before anything leaves your device. You can preview the full contents of a report and edit it before you choose to send it.
System permissions
The App requests the minimum set of system permissions required for features you actively use:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Camera | Scanning QR codes to import subscriptions. No photos or videos are stored or uploaded. |
| Notifications | Delivering connection status changes and alerts you have configured. |
| Local Network | Discovering devices on your local network for the cross-device remote controller feature. |
| VPN (NetworkExtension) | Establishing the proxy connection that you turn on yourself. The VPN profile is used solely to route traffic according to your own configuration. |
The App does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or any other permission not listed above.
This website
www.prismway.app is a static website. It sets no analytics or tracking cookies and embeds no third-party trackers.
If we ever introduce an analytics tool on the Site in the future, we will ask for your consent before it is activated.
Children
The App and the Site are not directed at children. Because we collect no data from any user, we likewise collect no data from children.
Your rights
Under privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability over your personal data. Because all of your data resides locally on your device, you can exercise these rights directly, without making any request to us:
- Access and correction: all data is visible and editable within the App.
- Deletion: use the one-tap "erase all data" option in the App, or delete the App.
- Export: configurations and diagnostic reports can be exported from within the App.
Users in the European Union or the United Kingdom may contact us at [email protected] to exercise any other rights, or to lodge a question about this policy.
Data security
Prismway operates no servers that store user data. Since no user data is ever transmitted to us, there is no database on our side that could be breached, leaked, or subpoenaed for your information. The security of your data is governed by the protections of your device and, where iCloud sync is enabled, of your Apple account.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will announce them in the App and, where required, ask for your consent again before the changes take effect.
A version history of this policy is maintained on this page, so you can always see what changed and when.
